Over 40 Years of Experience

About the Team of Big Hill Chiropractic & Massage Therapy Centre

Dr. Peter Koebisch, Chiropractor and Owner

Dr. Koebisch received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1973. Four years of further study and an internship resulted in a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1977. After a decade of private practice in Calgary, Peter opened a clinic in Cochrane when the population was still around 4,500.

Peter has lived in the rural Cochrane area since 1983 and the new, multidisciplinary clinic was constructed in 2000. He operates a general evidence-based practice based on orthopedic diagnosis and motion palpation of the spine and extremities. Diversified manipulation techniques are the mainstay of his practice. Therapeutic ultrasound, custom foot orthotics, braces/supports, and exercises are also provided as required. If his experience determines that additional care is required, he will make the appropriate professional referral.

Brigitte, is the office manager of this family business. Both are fluent in German. Along with their daughter, Savanna, they are renowned for their passion of world-wide outdoor adventure travel.

Dr. Savanna Koebisch, Chiropractor

Dr. Koebisch completed her chiropractic degree in 2019 at the AECC University College in Bournemouth, England with first class honours. During her studies she was awarded the Hugh Gemmell Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence. Savanna is passionate about musculoskeletal research, and presented a poster on rural healthcare at the 2019 World Federation of Chiropractic Biennial Congress in Berlin. She was selected to participate in the Programme for Early Researchers in Chiropractic (PERC) research internship. This internship, affiliated with the Centre for Sport, Exercise, and Osteoarthritis Research Versus Arthritis, allowed Savanna to gain an insight into the latest musculoskeletal research, across many professions. She completed a study on rural musculoskeletal health during this time, which she then presented at the Dissemination Day at the University of Oxford. She intends on focusing and furthering her career in both clinical and academic directions.

Her practice is research-informed and based on the Diversified manual therapy technique, as well as soft tissue therapies, functional rehabilitation, and prevention strategies. Other modalities used include therapeutic ultrasound and braces/supports. She is an advocate of physical activity and exercise prescription. Savanna has experience in paediatric chiropractic and welcomes patients of all ages.

Savanna’s passions are outdoor pursuits and travelling.
