Dr. Peter Koebisch, Chiropractor and Owner
Dr. Koebisch received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1973. Four years of further study and an internship resulted in a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1977. After a decade of private practice in Calgary, Peter opened a clinic in Cochrane when the population was still around 4,500.
Peter has lived in the rural Cochrane area since 1983 and the new, multidisciplinary clinic was constructed in 2000. He operates a general evidence-based practice based on orthopedic diagnosis and motion palpation of the spine and extremities. Diversified manipulation techniques are the mainstay of his practice. Therapeutic ultrasound, custom foot orthotics, braces/supports, and exercises are also provided as required. If his experience determines that additional care is required, he will make the appropriate professional referral.
Brigitte, is the office manager of this family business. Both are fluent in German. Along with their daughter, Savanna, they are renowned for their passion of world-wide outdoor adventure travel.
Dr. Savanna Koebisch, Chiropractor
Dr. Koebisch completed her chiropractic degree in 2019 at the AECC University College in Bournemouth, England with first class honours. During her studies she was awarded the Hugh Gemmell Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence. Savanna is passionate about musculoskeletal research, and presented a poster on rural healthcare at the 2019 World Federation of Chiropractic Biennial Congress in Berlin. She was selected to participate in the Programme for Early Researchers in Chiropractic (PERC) research internship. This internship, affiliated with the Centre for Sport, Exercise, and Osteoarthritis Research Versus Arthritis, allowed Savanna to gain an insight into the latest musculoskeletal research, across many professions. She completed a study on rural musculoskeletal health during this time, which she then presented at the Dissemination Day at the University of Oxford. She intends on focusing and furthering her career in both clinical and academic directions.
Her practice is research-informed and based on the Diversified manual therapy technique, as well as soft tissue therapies, functional rehabilitation, and prevention strategies. Other modalities used include therapeutic ultrasound and braces/supports. She is an advocate of physical activity and exercise prescription. Savanna has experience in paediatric chiropractic and welcomes patients of all ages.
Savanna’s passions are outdoor pursuits and travelling.
Margaret Carroll, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Margaret began her clinical practice in 1996 as a Nutritional Consultant, a Wellness Coach, a Shiatsu Therapist and Reflexologist. In 2006 she graduated from the Advanced Massage Therapy Program (2200 hours) from Foothills College of Massage Therapy.
Her experience as a practitioner includes: Relaxation and Therapeutic massage in a clinical setting treating soft tissue injuries and related conditions.
Enhanced skills include: Craniosacral Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki, Chakra Balancing, Myofascial Cupping, Pre and Post –Natal Massage, Stress Management Massage and Massage for Cancer. During a session she is able to draw on these therapies to meet your needs.
Margaret studies and advocates preventative and holistic health. Her reputation has grown in Cochrane as an experienced holistic practitioner and preventative health educator.
Amanda Holdenried, RMT
Amanda has been practicing massage therapy since 2004, when she received her 1000-hour diploma from Foothills College of Massage Therapy. She also holds the CEE equivalency 2200-hour recognition. Amanda grew up in Canmore, AB, and has a passion for the mountains and hiking. She has always had a love for health and fitness, which led her on the path to massage therapy. Amanda enjoys treating sports related injuries, and has taken courses on myofascial release as well as stretching and strengthening techniques. In her free time Amanda enjoys golfing, camping and spending time with her husband Richard, daughter Kaitlyn, and their beloved canine companion, nicknamed “Summy”!
Melodie Edgson, RMT
Throughout Melodie’s journey as a Registered Massage Therapist, she’s gathered knowledge and experience from a wide variety of sources and academics. She completed the 2500 hour massage therapy program at Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 1997. She started her massage practice in Yellowknife, NT and remained there until 2001, relocating to Calgary, AB. Joining a multidisciplinary clinic added to her passion for co-treating a wide variety of ailments and injuries. In 2006, Mel ventured on to develop her own massage practice where she continued providing deep tissue therapeutic and sports massage, adding to her extensive knowledge in aromatherapy, Reflexology and Raindrop Therapy to effectively enhance the health of each individual as a whole. Her love of the outdoors and the close proximity to the mountains has brought her to live in and love our town of Cochrane.
Melodie is excited to join the Big Hill Chiropractic team. She is privileged to share her 22 years of experience with individuals of all ages and stages of life, whether they need to destress from work, prevent injuries from sports activities or become pain-free from injuries or chronic conditions. Her belief in the human body’s ability to heal itself reflects on her willingness to listen and learn from each individual’s needs.
Jessica Gladstone, RMT
Jessica Gladstone has been registered and practicing massage therapy for 11 years, graduating out of Foothills College of Massage Therapy in 2008. She has 2200 hrs equivalency of practice and is a registered member in good standing with the Natural Practitioners of Canada association. Jessica has a well-rounded approach to her therapy and intuitively treats her clients in a way specific to the individual. She has special skills in therapeutic and sports massage, but does not put herself inside this box. Swedish relaxation massage is also used in her methods of treatment. She thoroughly enjoys working with athletes but finds fulfillment in helping every individual, no matter their background, in their own unique way. Jessica’s aspiration of treatment is to open up an experience for clients to learn about themselves and create an attainable path to personal health and healing.
Jessica has a free spirit and has travelled the world both in sport and to further her growth in massage and her own self development. She has taken Ayurvedic courses in India and spent time in Thailand. Vipassana meditation is one of the highlights of her discovery while abroad. Her journey thus far and the experiences she’s underwent have all served to deepen her awareness of healing.
Jessica is also an accomplished professional Muay Thai athlete and has been training and fighting in the sport for almost 20 years. She has widened her therapeutic skills in massage working with top Muay Thai athletes and strives to live a lifestyle built around the warrior mentality of martial arts. She enjoys being in nature, rock climbing, hiking, and also being brought up on a ranch, is passionate about horses and animals.
